How do I attend online classes?

As an online student at Our Lady of the Lake University, you'll be given access to an easy-to-use virtual learning system. Before you start the program, you will take part in an orientation to make sure you understand the system and how to use its resources.

You'll log on to each virtual class and complete assignments and exams, just like in a traditional college course, but online. You'll also interact in frequent, lively discussion forums with professors and your fellow students.

Do they take place at a certain time each day?

Most classes are asynchronous, meaning that students do not need to log on at a specific time. Coursework can be accessed online anytime, day or night, but assignments must be completed by the due dates designated by each professor. Our MAC program does contain some synchronous elements. How much time should I set aside for coursework?

How much time you need to set aside for your studies depends on your individual study habits, and may vary depending on how closely you are keeping to the recommended course schedule.

What if I need help? What type of support will be available to me?

Our Lady of the Lake University believes in giving every student as much support and guidance as possible.

As an online student, you will have access to the same resources available to on-campus students. Admission advisors will assist you with the application process. Professors are available via telephone and email during your studies. In addition, you'll have access to 24/7 online technical support, the resources of the Mary Francine Danis Writing Center, and our peer tutoring programs.

Yes, Our Lady of the Lake University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees.
