Additional Requirements	Background check fee: $10 Completed background check and authorization form Personal statement Student acknowledgment form Student questionnaire Reference form A complete and current résumé FERPA Consent to Release Educational Records and Information form (written consent for release of test records to certification officer and program faculty) Current teaching license (if you’re a teacher) Teaching Service Record is no longer required. If a student was admitted to the program prior to September 1, 2023, the student is required to have 2 years of teaching experience according to TAC Code 239.20. If a student is admitted to the program after September 1, 2023, the student is not required to have 2 years of teaching experience according to Senate Bill (SB) 798.

NOTE: Applicants that do not meet all the requirements of the ideal candidate are still encouraged to apply. Admissions decisions are based on holistic reviews of an applicant’s entire application package.
