Women in Poverty [Infographic]

Although social workers help individuals from many different walks of life, they are particularly valuable to women. According to The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women, the majority of people living in poverty are female. Around the globe, women have many more socioeconomic disadvantages than their male counterparts.

Earning your Master of Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University can be the first step in making positive changes in the lives of others. Here is a closer look at how poverty affects women – and how you can be part of the change.
