Several friends have told me that they couldn’t do online school because it would be difficult to stay motivated.
Going into a graduate program, especially an online one, it is possible to focus just on homework and ignore time for yourself, friends, and family.
One of the reasons that I wanted to pursue a Master’s Degree was to gain more employment opportunities.
You may be wondering how difficult a Master’s Degree might be or what kind of things you should expect. A Master’s Degree can be burdensome but it can be accomplished if you are determined enough to finish once you start. You may feel that 18 months or 2 years is a long time.
As I begin my concentration level practicum, I made a conscience decision to reflect on my current self-care practices and create a plan to implement these practices on a consistent basis.
Time management skills are especially important to a student’s success in OLLU’s 8 week accelerated classes. One aspect of time management is prioritization.
The option of attaining a degree online has many advantages for those of us that are unable to attend traditional on-campus classes. As a spouse and mother, online school has proven beneficial for me because of its flexibility and accessibility.
If fully connected into a career at the bachelor’s level or not working at all, many adults find themselves busy with family, children, community work, church, volunteering at a child’s school or sports teams.
Are we ever too old to learn? Will my investment pay me back? How will I fit school into a busy Mom life? Will I start and then have to quit? What if I can’t find a job?
It is my opinion that the best thing about the OLLU online social work program would be the flexibility and amount of freedom that I have had along the way. Along with the opportunities I have had due to this freedom and flexibility.
